A man was killed and three other people were injured in a shooting at a Bealls department-owned store in Houston’s Bealls district, police said.
The shooting happened about 1:30 p.m.
Monday at the Bealls Family Store on South Lamar.
Police said a man shot and killed his estranged wife, according to a statement from the Houston Police Department.
They said he and the other injured person had been with the couple since December.
Police are still investigating what happened.
The statement said the man and the injured person were married for four years and lived together in a Beals home, according of a statement released by the Houston Fire Department.
The Houston Police Dept. released the following statement regarding the shooting: “On December 16, 2018, Houston Police received information of a shooting inside a Beams Family Store located at 814 S Lamar.
Upon investigation, officers found a man deceased in the store’s parking lot.
The investigation revealed the man was the deceased husband of the deceased woman, who was transported to a local hospital.
The injured victim was transported by EMS to Bealls Hospital.
The deceased woman has been identified as 33-year-old Cynthia Bealls.
The Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
No further information will be released at this time.”
The department did not immediately provide further information about the injured woman.
