Oxford, England (Reuters) – Police in England have issued an apology after they released footage of a young woman being punched and restrained by a man during an alleged assault on a pedestrian on a street.
The footage was recorded on Thursday night and has now been shared widely on social media.
It shows a woman being pushed against a parked car by a male who has a badge.
He can be heard saying “what’s wrong with you, I’ve got to tell you.”
The video was uploaded to YouTube on Friday.
A spokesperson for Oxford Police said the force was aware of the incident and had apologised to the woman.
The spokesperson said officers were not in a position to make any further comment at this time.
Oxford police have launched an investigation into the incident.
